Let's talk Christmas!
Usually, at this time of year, I'm making stock ready for my six-week stint at Blackthorpe Barns ... it's a magical place that just oozes Christmas and I enjoy meeting people from near and far as they're excitedly buying their Christmas presents and looking forward to the big day. I enjoy it so much that I take selfies like the one below!
This year is understandably different. Blackthorpe Barns have had to cancel their physical event... such a shame as they work really hard every year to make it the place to get Christmassy. Instead, they've gone online - all of us traders now have an online profile (here's mine) and you can buy their Christmas decorations and paraphernalia online too.
So, that got me thinking - Blackthorpe Barns attracts huge numbers of people each year and, as there are so few events happening physically at the moment, and as there is a large empty field behind my workshop, why not host my own Christmas market in the six weeks leading up to Christmas? I can't be more excited about it!
With plenty of room to socially distance and with six weekends to choose from, there'll be plenty of opportunity for you to come and see my work, alongside that of a carefully chosen selection of my fellow artists and makers. I'm hoping that each weekend, from 14th November through to 20th December from 10am to 4pm, I'll be joined by various local traders and so you'll still have a great chance of doing your Christmas shopping locally, with independent artisans - the people that need you the most this year. See my
calendar for more details
I'm even thinking of doing two or three Friday evenings if that suits too? Keep your eyes peeled on social media (Facebook; Instagram; Twitter), for updates on all things Christmas - I'll let you know who will be joining me as and when plan are more solid. What I do know is that there will be food, drink and a warm welcome from yours truly!
Obviously I'm still working on commissions, alongside Christmas stock. If there's anything that you've got in mind, whether it's for Christmas or just for now, by all means get in touch
Cheers
